Northern Ireland Erects IAT Trail Markers

During summer 2014, IAT blazes (i.e., trail markers) have been erected on sections of the International Appalachian Trail in Northern Ireland, including the Ulster Way and Antrim Hills Way

IAT Ireland was officially launched in September 2013 during the Bluegrass Music Festival at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, Northern Ireland.

IAT Ireland trail markers were recently erected overlooking views of scenic Sallagh Braes, a semi-circular basalt escarpment that was created when glaciers cut into unstable slopes and caused a massive land slip,

and Slemish Mountain, which owes its distinctive shape to the fact that it is an old volcanic plug once constrained within the crater of a volcano.
